Dacia Unveils Striker: The Family Crossover That Breaks the Mold
Dacia has revealed the name of its future compact car. The model, previously known under the project designation C-Neo, has been named Striker. The novelty is positioned as a family car with an extended crossover body, close in format to an elevated station wagon. The official premiere is scheduled for March 10.
The manufacturer has not yet disclosed technical specifications. The company limited itself to publishing an image with the model name and a short teaser video. There are few visible details, so determining the exact silhouette of the car is difficult at the moment.
The name Striker continues the naming logic of the Romanian brand. Like the Dacia Jogger, Dacia Duster, and Dacia Bigster models, it ends in "-er", which has become a characteristic feature of the Dacia model lineup. According to the manufacturer, the name should be associated with strength and precision — like a "strike" in bowling — and emphasize the car's ability to stand out in the market.
The new model is expected to be built on the CMF-B platform, used by several Renault Group vehicles, including the Dacia Sandero and Dacia Duster. This architecture will form the basis for a completely new body. Preliminary estimates suggest the vehicle length will be about 4.5 meters.
The full presentation is also expected to reveal information about the powertrains. Preliminary data suggests the lineup may include a 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, a 1.2-liter gasoline engine, and a version running on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Additionally, a hybrid setup with a 1.8-liter engine is expected. A mild hybrid based on the 1.2-liter engine and a possible all-wheel-drive version created on the basis of the Duster hybrid system are also being discussed, but these options have not yet been confirmed.
