The developers at Arrowhead Game Studios shared excellent news for those playing the cooperative shooter Helldivers 2 on PC — very soon, the game will take up 85% less space on the hard drive.

What is known

Recall, back at the end of 2025, the authors discovered that with a simple reconfiguration of files and a change in the approach to loading locations, the game could occupy 130 GB less space on the drive.

The corresponding update was released for the test version of Helldivers 2, and all this time it has been undergoing checks, including during the influx of players during the release of the Machinery of Oppression update.

Arrowhead was pleased with their work and now the studio announced that on March 17, the stable Steam version of the shooter will shed excess weight and will occupy less than 30 GB, which is an amazing result for a modern and highly technological game.
