The compact Ford Puma Gen‑E electric crossover has undergone a technical update. The model now features a battery with larger capacity and supports the Ford BlueCruise highway automation system.

According to Ford, engineers have reworked the internal structure of the battery pack, allowing the battery capacity to increase from 43 kWh to 46.8 kWh. As a result, the Puma Gen‑E's range under the WLTP cycle has grown from 376 km to 417 km.

The maximum charging power remains unchanged at 100 kW, and the charging curve has hardly altered. Therefore, the battery charging time from 10 to 80% has slightly increased: it now takes 26 minutes instead of the previous 23 minutes.

The electric motor mounted on the front axle also remains unchanged. It produces 165 hp and 290 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 7.4 seconds — the same as in the previous version.

Moreover, both the Ford Puma Gen‑E and the gasoline Ford Puma have become the brand's most compact models to feature the Ford BlueCruise driver assistance system. It allows you to manage steering, acceleration, braking, and lane-keeping without needing to keep your hands on the wheel on pre-mapped highways referred to as "Blue Zones" by the company.

However, the system requires constant driver attention: it oversees the vehicle's movement, but the driver must keep an eye on the road and be ready to take control.

The Ford BlueCruise system is the first in its class to get approval for use in Europe — this occurred in 2023 when the Ford Mustang Mach‑E electric crossover was introduced to the market. The technology is also available on several Ford models in Europe, including the Ford Kuga crossover.

For the Ford Puma Gen‑E, the system is offered as standard equipment in the new Blue Cruise Edition trim. For other versions, it is available as an option requiring a monthly or annual subscription.

Standard equipment includes the Ford SYNC 4 multimedia system. It offers a 12.8-inch digital instrument panel and a 12-inch central touchscreen with support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The base audio system has six speakers. More expensive versions offer the BO Play system with ten speakers and a total power of 650 W.
