Compact budget phone: Sony has shown Xperia Ace 2 with a 5.5-inch screen, MediaTek Helio P35 chip and IP68 protection
Sony has announced its new budget smartphone called Xperia Ace 2 in its home market in Japan.
What we know
Sony Xperia Ace 2 is a compact budget phone, which is equipped with a plastic case with IP68 water protection and a 5.5-inch IPS-display. The panel has a waterdrop notch, HD+ resolution and toughened glass Gorilla Glass 6. Inside it is equipped with an eight-core processor MediaTek Helio P35. The chip is paired with 4 GB of RAM. Built-in storage is 64 GB. If desired, it can be expanded with a microSD memory card.
The main camera has two sensors: 13 MP + 2 MP. The front, in turn, has one 8 MP module. Also, the device is equipped with a side fingerprint scanner, a 4500 mAh battery and a headphone jack. The new device weighs 159 grams.
Price and when to expect
Sony Xperia Ace 2 sales are scheduled for May 28th. The price in Japan will be $200. Whether the new product will be released in other areas is unknown.
