Xiaomi has introduced the new Mijia Air Conditioner Human-Sensing Wind 1.5HP, which detects human presence in the room and automatically changes the direction and intensity of the airflow. The device is already available in China on the Xiaomi Mall platform. The starting price is 2399 yuan (about $347) instead of the standard 3899 yuan.

What is known

The air conditioner is equipped with two millimeter-wave radars that detect human presence and location in real-time. Based on this data, the system adjusts airflow operation: it can avoid direct blowing, soften the flow when a person is nearby, or direct cooling towards the user. If no one is in the room, the device automatically switches to energy-saving mode.

The model features an air panel with an area of 908 cm² and a cross-flow fan with 108 mm diameter blades. The maximum air flow volume reaches up to 780 m³ per hour. According to the company, the system can cool or heat a room in about three minutes. The air conditioner supports airflow distance up to 10 meters, ensuring even temperature distribution in the room. The device noise level is 16 dB.

The air conditioner operates on the Mijia Lingyun control system with AI features. The system analyzes usage scenarios to optimize air conditioner operation. It also supports integration with HyperOS, Mi Home app, and voice control through XiaoAI.

The air conditioner has an energy efficiency class of Level 1 with an APF rating of 5.32. Additional features include self-cleaning for both internal and external units, antibacterial filters, and a cloud diagnostics system that monitors the device's condition.
