Nintendo has unveiled the epic final trailer of the full-length animated film The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, which will be a direct sequel to the hit The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023).

What is known

Viewers were shown the film's plot setup: the treacherous Bowser Jr., in an attempt to please his father, attacks the peaceful kingdom where Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and other characters live peacefully. Bowser's attack causes massive destruction, and the senior reptile has even more evil plans to conquer the Galaxy, and to prevent this—the heroes unite in the face of a common enemy.

The true highlight will undoubtedly be the cute dinosaur Yoshi, familiar to every Mario fan. He is associated with half of the funny moments in the trailer, and there will surely be more in the film.

In a special Nintendo Direct episode, they revealed the names of some more voice actors:

  • Donald Glover — Yoshi;
  • Issa Rae — Queen Honey;
  • Luis Guzman — Wart.

In addition to them, the voice cast included:

  • Chris Pratt — Mario;
  • Anya Taylor-Joy — Princess Peach;
  • Brie Larson — Princess Rosalina;
  • Charlie Day — Luigi;
  • Jack Black — Bowser;
  • Benny Safdie — Bowser Jr.;
  • Keegan-Michael Key — Toad.

The directors of the tape were once again Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, and the screenplay was written by Matthew Fogel.

The premiere of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will take place on April 1st. The runtime of the film is 95 minutes.
