The insider reported last week that Xiaomi is working on a new version of Redmi Note 8 smartphone. Now the manufacturer has officially confirmed the existence of the device.

The company published a post on Twitter, according to which more than 25 million units of Redmi Note 8 smartphones have been sold worldwide. In honor of this event, Xiaomi decided to release a new version of the device with the prefix 2021 in the name. The device should be announced in the near future.

As a reminder, Redmi Note 8 (2021) is codenamed Biloba. The main difference between the smartphone will be the MediaTek Helio G85 processor, instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665. In addition, the new product is also expected with an IPS display with a teardrop notch and refresh rate of 120 Hz, a quad camera with a 48 MP main sensor, and a 4000 mAh battery with fast charging at 22.5 watts. The smartphone should enter the market in two memory modifications and with a pre-installed proprietary shell MIUI 12.5. The price of the device is unknown.
