Google has started implementing its Gemini chatbot in the Google Chrome browser for users in Canada, India, and New Zealand. After launching the feature in the US earlier this year, new capabilities are gradually appearing in other countries. Along with expanding geographically, Gemini support in Chrome has also covered more than 50 new languages, including French, Hindi, Gujarati, and Spanish.

What is known

The new tool is integrated into the browser as a sidebar that can be opened with the “spark” icon in the top right corner of the interface. After that, the user gets access to the Google Gemini chatbot in the current tab. This allows asking questions, getting explanations, or help with text without switching between sites.

The sidebar also allows using the built-in image generator and interacting with other company services. Gemini in Chrome supports integrations with such services as Gmail, Google Maps, Google Calendar, and YouTube.

Google notes that by 2026, the feature is planned to launch in even more countries and with support for additional languages. If users do not want to use the new tool, the Gemini icon can be removed — just right-click on it and select the Unpin option.
