Meta has made new agreements with international media so that its artificial intelligence can better present relevant news about world events. This is stated in the company's announcement.

What is known

The collaboration has been joined by the French newspaper Le Figaro, the Spanish media group Prisa, and the German publication Süddeutsche Zeitung. Together with the media company News Corp, which manages a number of publications in the UK, they are to provide Meta AI with access to more timely information about international events.

Meta noted that the integration will allow users to find news more easily: AI responses will include links to original articles of partner media so that readers can visit their sites and learn more details. The terms of the new agreements are not disclosed by the company, but earlier The Wall Street Journal reported that the agreement with News Corp may be valued at approximately 50 million dollars per year.

Collaboration with publishers can help Meta improve the quality of its AI's responses, which previously sometimes showed problems with accuracy and relevance of information. At the same time, experts note that it is still unclear what real benefit the media themselves will receive, as search engines may reduce traffic to news sites.
