The Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment is known for its love of the most advanced technologies and uses them to make its games as modern and impressive as possible from a graphical perspective, so it's no surprise that the company was one of the first to announce the integration of the latest capabilities of the improved PSSR 2 upscaler, developed by Sony and AMD.

What is known

Remedy announced that PlayStation 5 Pro console users will soon be able to use PSSR 2 in the action game Control Ultimate Edition and the horror game Alan Wake II.

The developers have not disclosed the details, but claim that the advanced upscaler will provide a significant increase in image clarity in dynamic scenes.

Let us note that at the moment the only game supporting PSSR 2 is Resident Evil Requiem, and this technology shows impressive results there: at a native resolution of 1080p, the picture looks as if the game is running in 4K, and this is achieved without sacrificing ray tracing and with stable performance above 60 FPS. Probably, in Control and Alan Wake II, gamers can expect the same performance.

In 2026, Remedy has planned the release of Control Resonant, and it would be no surprise if the new game immediately comes out with PSSR 2 support.
