Resident Evil Requiem Breaks Records: 6 Million Copies Sold in Just 16 Days!
Capcom reported another impressive achievement for Resident Evil Requiem. In just 16 days, the horror sold over 6 million copies!
What is known
The ninth installment of the most famous zombie game series has now become the fastest-selling game of the franchise — a title previously held by the highly acclaimed remake of Resident Evil 4.
This success is explained not only by the extensive list of platforms and the nearly impeccable technical condition of the game, but also by the fact that it combines two types of gameplay that expand the audience.
The episodes featuring Leon Kennedy are filled with action and are stylistically reminiscent of Resident Evil IV, where Kennedy was the central character, while the FBI analyst Grace's gameplay recalls RE7 and is built on the classic survival horror principle: the heroine is practically unable to use weapons, tires quickly, and cannot withstand many monster attacks, so she prefers to hide from them, but can stand her ground if necessary.
Moreover, the game is full of fan service, references, and some old storylines receive long-awaited conclusions (but new questions also arise).
Capcom has already confirmed that they are working on a large story expansion, and a free update with a photo mode and card mini-game is planned for May.
