Gothic Returns: Classic RPG Set to Launch on iOS in 2026 with Original Atmosphere Intact
In the last few years, many cool PC and console games have been released on iOS, but most of them are modern. Now there's great news for those who want to have something classic and hardcore at hand.
We are talking about the legendary Gothic, which was released exactly 25 years ago — on March 15, 2001.
What is Known
Publisher THQ Nordic announced that in 2026 the first Gothic will be ported to iOS. Developers will retain all the content, style, and atmosphere of the original but will slightly adapt the interface, making its elements larger and more rounded, to make the gameplay more convenient with touch controls in mind.
Of course, gamers immediately started asking questions about porting the game to Android, to which they replied: such an option is being considered, but for now, it can only be confirmed for Apple devices.
It is not yet known what system requirements the mobile Gothic will have, but it is likely about fairly new iPhone and iPad models with powerful chips and sufficient RAM.
Recall that Official: Gothic Remake release will take place on June 5, and during the year The original Gothic trilogy will be released for the first time on PlayStation and Xbox consoles for PlayStation and Xbox of two generations.
