Kojima's Surprise: Death Stranding 2 PC Release Brings Live-Action Scenes and New Nightmares for Sam
In just two days, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be released on PC. This will be a port of Hideo Kojima's highly acclaimed game, which was released in June 2025 and is currently a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
Previously, the developers stated that the PC version supports all major controllers, is compatible with ultrawide monitors, and uses NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XESS 2 scaling technologies. In addition to upscalers and frame generation, users will be offered Pico upscaling technology for the first time, specially developed by Guerrilla Games for games using the Decima engine. It works on any graphics card and is compatible with the frame generation methods available in the game.
However, it turns out that in addition to technical improvements, Kojima is preparing new content that may surprise gamers.
What is Known
During a podcast, the Japanese developer announced that the PC version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will receive a major update simultaneously with its release. It will feature many unique elements, but it is worth highlighting the appearance of live-action scenes with actors, which were cut from the game for various reasons, and the main character Sam will have more phantasmagoric nightmares. New equipment and a creepy cat in the protagonist's room will appear in the game.
Hardcore gamers will be offered a new To The Wilder difficulty mode as well as the ability to replay boss fights, including with Neal.
The PS5 version will add a 21:9 Ultrawide mode, making Death Stranding 2 even more cinematic.
Additionally, gameplay mechanics and balance will be adjusted based on player feedback.
