An important event took place on Steam and the Epic Games Store: the release of the PC version of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach — the sequel to Hideo Kojima's (Hideo Kojima) famous conceptual game from 2019 is no longer a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

What is known

Gamers are pleased with the port quality and leave positive reviews. Almost all players highly rate the technical condition and the content of the first hours of the game, although some users complain about optimization. However, these cases are rare, as confirmed by 95% positive reviews on Steam.

Like PS5 users, PC gamers note that Death Stranding 2 is significantly easier than the first part, and for some, this is a downside.

On computers, the game supports all major controllers, is compatible with ultrawide monitors, and uses NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XESS 2 scaling technologies. In addition to upscalers and frame generation, users were given the Pico-scaling technology for the first time, which Guerrilla Games specially developed for games on the Decima engine.

Alongside the PC release, the game received a large update featuring many unique elements, including live-action scenes that had to be cut for various reasons, and the main character Sam will have even more phantasmagoric nightmares. New equipment was added to the game, as well as the creepy cat Tarmin in the protagonist's room.

Hardcore gamers gained access to a new difficulty mode called To The Wilder, as well as the ability to replay boss battles, including with Neil.

The PS5 version received a 21:9 Ultrawide mode, making Death Stranding 2 even more cinematic.
