According to new EU regulations, all smartphones, tablets, and other gadgets must have easily replaceable batteries that can be removed with only basic tools and without specialized services. This is necessary so that users do not have to buy new devices if the battery becomes unusable, allowing them to replace it themselves. Additionally, caring for the environment is an even more important argument.

Only for Europe

Nintendo does not intend to lose the huge European market and is preparing a new revision of the Switch 2 console.

According to Nikkei, the Japanese company will slightly modify the component layout for consoles supplied to Europe and will stop using glue to fix the battery. This decision will allow Nintendo to adapt its mega-popular gaming consoles to EU regulations without worrying about fines or a theoretical sales ban.
