The sci-fi action game Pragmata will be one of the most unusual games from publisher Capcom. The game was announced in 2020 and from the first trailers, it more closely resembled Hideo Kojima's (Hideo Kojima) conceptual projects than another novelty from the publisher, which targets a wide audience. Humanoid robots, a lunar base, an unusual visual style, and a general atmosphere raised many questions, and specifically for those who are unsure about purchasing Pragmata, Capcom released an introductory video

What is known

The trailer is called “Pragmata in 90 Seconds” and shows key mechanics, a brief plot setup, main characters, and the visual aesthetics of the ambitious action game.

In Pragmata, the player controls two characters at once — a space engineer named Hugh and a cute android girl named Diana. They must combine efforts to escape from the isolated lunar research station captured by AI-controlled robots.

The central part of Pragmata's gameplay is the unconventional battles, where the player must not only shoot at the enemy's weak spots but also use Diana's abilities for remote hacking of the robots. This process is implemented through a simple yet interesting mini-game, and it occurs simultaneously with Hugh's actions, thereby effectively allowing the player to control two characters simultaneously, which narratively strengthens the connection between the protagonists.

Hugh and Diana's main goal will be to evacuate from the station and return to Earth. However, humanity has done everything possible to hide the incident that occurred on the Moon and does not wish for the return of androids, particularly Diana. This places the main characters before a moral dilemma, and likely, the story’s ending will depend on the player's decision.

When to expect

The release of Pragmata is scheduled for April 17 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2.
