V Rising Universe Expands: Stunlock Studios Teases Ambitious New Gothic Vampire Game
Isometric action-RPG with survival elements V Rising has become one of the most exciting indie games of recent years. Its success has allowed the Swedish studio Stunlock to gain financial independence and provide impressive post-release support for the game.
Now the developers have announced that they are working on a new game.
V Rising to become a franchise
Unfortunately, Stunlock Studios did not share information about the next game, but it's already known that its events will unfold in the same universe as V Rising, which means the vampire story will continue.
The Stunlock team is working on a new game set in the beautiful, strange, and gothic world of V Rising. This will be our most ambitious project in the 15-year history of the studio, and we can't wait to embark on this journey with you. The hunt for blood is about to reach a new level.
We are experimenting in ways we haven't been able to for a long time and exploring new ideas unbounded by previous limitations. Building on the knowledge we've gained together with you, we can create a bolder vision for the future of our vampire universe.
In our next game, you'll have to bring your darkest fantasies to life in a world full of depth, danger, and mystery. <...> We're approaching this project with great respect and understanding of what it requires, and we're striving to create something outstanding. When the time comes, your feedback, as always, will help us refine and improve the game.
Obviously, the new game won't be released in the next year or two, as it is currently in early development.
As for V Rising, the developers have confirmed the end of content support. The game will receive a few more patches with bug fixes, but no new content will be added.
V Rising is available on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5 and has excellent reviews.
