Samsung has begun the early stage of developing the Exynos 2800 processor, which, according to preliminary data, is planned for use in the Samsung Galaxy S28 series smartphones in 2028. Currently, the project is in its initial stage.

What is Known

According to Korean sources, the design of the chip codenamed Vanguard is planned to be completed by the end of 2026. After this, development will be transferred to the semiconductor manufacturing division for preparation for mass production. It is expected that the processor will be created using the improved third-generation 2-nm SF2P+ process technology.

According to insiders, Samsung may postpone the transition to the 1.4-nm process technology and focus on 2-nm technology. While its launch was previously considered as early as 2027, the focus has now shifted to stability and increasing the yield of functional chips. According to new estimates, the 1.4-nm process technology may appear closer to 2029.

The technical specifications of the Exynos 2800 are not yet disclosed. However, if successful, the Samsung Galaxy S28 may receive a more balanced and efficient processor than in previous generations.
