Xbox Game Pass Set to Launch Cheaper Plan with Exclusive In-House Titles, Dataminer Uncovers Surprising Details
There is active discussion online about the possible launch of a new, more budget-friendly Xbox Game Pass plan. The new head of Microsoft Gaming, Asha Sharma, is actively promoting this idea to attract additional users and, according to rumors, even suggested to Netflix to create a joint subscription.
Xbox has not commented on this information yet, but the dataminer known as redphx discovered something interesting.
What is known
redphx discovered files related to the Triton plan (working name), which include only games from internal Xbox studios and lack new releases.
List of games:
- DOOM Eternal
- Dishonored 2
- Fable Anniversary
- Fallout 4
- Fallout 76
- Gears 5
- Halo 5
- Halo Wars 2
- Hellblade
- Ori and the Blind Forest
- State Of Decay 2
- The Elder Scrolls Online
- DOOM 64
- Psychonauts
- Retro Classics
There is no doubt that Microsoft will launch a budget Game Pass plan, possibly even free but with advertising; however, it seems strange to include only their own games since there aren’t many. Additionally, it is known that the company plans to change its strategy and add new releases on launch day exclusively to the most expensive Xbox Game Pass plan, making it difficult to identify a target audience for old games.
