Crimson Desert Nears 5 Million Sales, Eyes Nintendo Switch 2 Port Despite Technical Challenges
Despite the initial criticism, the action RPG Crimson Desert from the Korean studio Pearl Abyss sells excellently and is receiving good reviews from gamers after a series of patches.
According to the developers, the new game has already sold over 3 million copies, but they expect this figure to soon grow to 5. However, achieving higher values is only possible by releasing the game on another popular platform.
What is known
The head of Pearl Abyss, Heo Jin-young, stated during a briefing with investors that the studio is considering porting Crimson Desert to Nintendo Switch 2. However, due to the console's technical limitations, they will have to make significant compromises, which may somewhat spoil the game's impression.
Although we will have to make some compromises, as Nintendo Switch 2 is inferior to other consoles in terms of technical specifications, we have begun discussing the possibility of developing a port with great interest.
Currently, Crimson Desert is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and features a huge open world and quite a high level of graphics, so performance drops even on the most powerful systems.
