Elon Musk Left Alone as Last xAI Cofounder Exits Amid Turmoil
Elon Musk's xAI Faces Crisis: 10 Co-founders Depart Amid Internal Struggles and Technical Setbacks that in a few months, ten out of the eleven founders of xAI had left the company. According to journalists, Elon Musk has taken over the management of the AI company and initiated additional transfers of engineers from Tesla and SpaceX to support the xAI project.
The last of the billionaire's partners, who were at the founding of xAI in 2023, was Ross Nordeen, but it became known that he didn't last long either.
What is Known
According to Business Insider, Nordeen left xAI this week. This is not officially confirmed, but besides insider information, the truth of this is also indicated by the missing xAI employee tag on the social network X (Twitter).
Nordeen coordinated priorities in xAI and was responsible for implementing key tasks. Before the creation of xAI, he worked at Tesla as a technical manager of the Autopilot program, where he was involved in developing data centers for Full Self-Driving training. In addition, he helped Musk organize massive layoffs on Twitter after its acquisition in 2022.
Since the beginning of this year, such specialists as Wu Yuhuai, Jimmy Ba, Toby Pollan, Zhang Guodong, and Dai Zihan have also left the company. The departure of specialists of this level may indicate internal disagreements or a high workload associated with the company's work processes.
