Nothing to Challenge Tech Giants with AI-Powered AR Glasses by 2027
The British brand Nothing is expanding its range of devices and after a successful entry into the smartphone and headphone market (and the CMF sub-brand also produces watches), may soon release its first smart glasses.
What is known
Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reported that in the first half of 2027, Nothing may release augmented reality glasses to try to compete with Meta, Google, and Apple.
The device will be equipped with built-in microphones, cameras, and possibly headphones, but the main element will be AI functions that will not be implemented directly on the glasses but will be processed on a connected smartphone or using cloud services.
Gurman notes that the novelty from Nothing is aimed at helping the user in everyday tasks.
Interestingly, earlier Nothing's head Carl Pei was not enthusiastic about the idea of releasing glasses, but now it seems the team has managed to convince him of the feasibility of such a gadget.
In addition, in 2026 the company plans to release AI headphones and continue to develop its smartphones. Recall, just a month ago, the mid-budget Nothing Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro were released, but it is already known that Nothing will happen: do not expect Nothing Phone (4) in 2026.
