Uber has announced the expansion of its program to incentivize the switch to electric vehicles across the United States. The initiative involves financial support for drivers who decide to replace their combustion vehicles with electric cars.

What is known

Under the program, drivers can receive a grant of $4,000 to purchase an electric vehicle, both new and used. The offer is available to drivers with Platinum and Diamond statuses who complete at least 100 trips by the end of 2026. Applications can be submitted through the company's website from mid-April.

In addition to the basic grant, additional bonuses are also provided. In particular, when purchasing a car through the TrueCar platform, drivers can receive an additional $1,000 discount. Kia also offers special conditions: a $1,000 discount on Niro and EV6 models and $1,500 on the EV9 electric SUV.

The company notes that the number of electric vehicles on the platform has already exceeded 286,000 worldwide, and service drivers are switching to EVs faster than the average car owners in the US, Canada, and Europe.
