In the final days of 2025, LG introduced advanced gaming monitors in the UltraGear evo series, which have unique features, and today the cost and release dates of two out of three models have been revealed.

Soon and Expensive

The innovative UltraGear evo GM9 (27GM950B) and UltraGear evo GX9 (39GX950B) monitors will debut in May. These novelties belong to the premium segment, so unfortunately, their price may disappoint many, but the declared characteristics justify it. Thus, the 39” GM9 display will cost $1800, while the 27” UltraGear evo GM9 will be priced at $1200; both are already available for pre-order.

They're Worth It

UltraGear evo GM9 (27GM950B) is the world's first 5K monitor with MiniLED backlighting with 2304 local dimming zones. It will feature a 27” IPS panel with a 165 Hz frequency and overclocking capability up to 330 Hz, albeit with a resolution drop to QHD. This model will have a peak brightness of 1250 nits.

UltraGear evo GX9 (39GX950B) will also offer breakthrough features — it's the world's first 5K2K-OLED monitor with MiniLED backlighting. Its main feature will be AI upscaling, which automatically elevates the original 2K image to 5K without loss of quality. The GX9 will have a 39” OLED panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio and a curvature radius of 1500R.

In December, LG announced a third novelty, a super-wide monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio, 5K2K resolution, and a gigantic 52” diagonal (also the world's first such model), but its price and release date remain unknown at this time.
