Ubisoft Stakes High on Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake: Big Reveal Set for April 16!
It seems fans' anticipation for Assassin's Creed is nearing its end — the long-rumored Black Flag remake will be presented shortly.
Recall, in March, the new leader of the Assassin’s Creed franchise Jean Guesdon officially confirmed the development of the 2013 pirate action game and mentioned that the updated version would have the subtitle Resynced. Finally, we also learned when the game will be presented.
It Won't Be Long Now
A ResetERA forum user named BlackBate reported that the presentation of Assassin's Creed Black Flag: Resynced is already scheduled for April 16.
This information might be taken with skepticism since its source doesn't have a proven reputation, but the Insider Gaming portal and its editor Tom Henderson confirm the specified date and add their own information. According to rumors, Ubisoft plans to release Resynced between June and August, with some insiders leaning towards July.
Will Pirates Save Ubisoft?
Ubisoft has high stakes for this game, as it will not only be the first major release of 2026 but also show how much Assassin's Creed fans are interested in remakes of older games, and in case of success, help improve the financial condition of the French company, which is still on the brink of bankruptcy.
For Those Unaware
Previously, insiders reported that Ubisoft would completely remove all episodes from the game taking place in the 21st-century offices of the Abstergo corporation, as the gameplay in these sections was dull and consisted of wandering around workspaces, solving simple puzzles, and finding scattered barcodes. The exclusion of these episodes will definitely benefit the game, especially since gamers will instead be offered an expanded main storyline about Edward Kenway.
The developers will add several hours of new content, including some that did not make it into the final version of the original game, for instance, the story of Mary Read will get some additional development.
The remake is being created on the latest version of the Anvil engine, which was used in the development of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and the gameplay will feature more RPG elements, specifically, players will be able to pick up gear items that will differ in their characteristics. The importance of weather effects will also increase.
Travel between sea and land will be seamless and will not be accompanied by a loading screen, however, the size of the open world will remain the same, although more additional activities will appear in certain locations.
