Josef Fares' Games Hit 50 Million Sales: Hazelight's Next Project to Surpass It Takes Two?
Eccentric game designer Josef Fares has changed the perception of cooperative games. His studio Hazelight released the best game of 2021, It Takes Two, which has received numerous awards, and the crime drama A Way Out laid the foundation for a new concept of "games for two."
It's no secret that each of Fares' works has colossal commercial success, and today the developer confirmed it with statistics.
What the numbers say
Hazelight reported that the sales of its three games — A Way Out, It Takes Two, and Split Fiction — have reached 50 million copies. On its social networks, the studio published a short video with gameplay clips of the aforementioned titles and revealed the following figures:
- A Way Out sold 13 million copies;
- It Takes Two — 30 million copies;

What's next?
Electronic Arts receives a huge amount of criticism from gamers, often justified, but it must be recognized that without EA's financial support, Josef Fares would not have been able to realize his ideas and bring fresh vision and innovative gameplay mechanics to the industry.
By the way, Fares and his team have been working on a new game for a year now, which, according to him, "will be even better than Split Fiction." The game designer constantly strives to surprise the public with new ideas, impressions, and concepts and is convinced that he still has much to surprise the world with, and there is no doubt that he will find ways to amaze gamers.
