Canceled Prince of Persia Remake Footage Surfaces: Was It Actually Destined for Success?
The story of the canceled remake of the iconic game Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time received a small continuation.
As gamers remember, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake canceled — Ubisoft made a radical decision that after many years in production hell and shortly before the insider-predicted release, it was halting the development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and later it became known that it was 95% ready for release.
Unexpectedly, a short gameplay clip of the updated version of The Sands of Time appeared on the Reddit forum, which divided the public.
What Gamers Say
In the shown fragments, you can only see a few seconds of video, and even that, shot in mediocre quality. Many note that in this material the game looks significantly better than in the scandalous 2020 gameplay trailer, especially regarding the design of locations and the overall atmosphere. However, the character models, unfortunately, did not progress much, and a large number of commentators tend to believe that Ubisoft made the right decision by abandoning a knowingly failing project.
At the same time, some users note that they were testers of this (shown) version and believe that the remake had every chance of success if the work continued.
