Two cheap Xiaomi smartphones of 2020 received global MIUI 12.5
Xiaomi has begun to spread MIUI 12.5 for the two Redmi smartphones announced in 2020. But still it is available to a limited number of users.
What got an update?
A software update has been released for Redmi Note 9 and Redmi 9 in the international market. The global version has Stable Beta status and is still available to Mi Pilot program members. The public version will be released if no critical vulnerabilities are found in the current build. Otherwise, you will have to wait a bit.
Redmi Note 9 received firmware v12.5.1.0 RJOMIXM. For Redmi 9 build v12.5.1.0 RJCMIXM is available. In both cases, the global MIUI 12.5 builds on the Android 11 operating system and carries the OS security patch for July 2021.
The smartphones were presented last spring and went on sale with MIUI 11 preinstalled on Android 10. Both models will receive MIUI 13, but with the next version of the operating system. Redmi 9 will definitely be left without Android 12, and the future of Redmi Note 9 is still vague.
