Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro tablets with new firmware unveiled, priced from $310
Xiaomi, following the Mi Mix 4, presented its first tablet computers starting in the summer of 2018.
What they showed
The new generation offers users two models: Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro. Both are equipped with an 11” display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and support for a stylus. The panel is made using IPS technology and complies with the HDR10 standard.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 has a Snapdragon 860 single-chip system. The built-in battery capacity is 8760 mAh, and the fast charging power is 33 W. The model got 6 GB of RAM and a storage capacity of 128/256 GB. A 13-megapixel camera is provided for photos. There is also an 8-megapixel front camera for face recognition and video calls.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro looks more interesting. The top version is equipped with a 7-nanometer single-chip Snapdragon 870 processor. The memory capacity is the same, but a modification with support for fifth generation cellular networks is provided.
The battery capacity was reduced to 8600 mAh, but 67-watt fast charging appeared. Interestingly, the company decided to use different cameras in the 5G and Wi-Fi versions. The first received modules of 50 Mp and 5 Mp, and the second - 13 Mp and 5 Mp.
Prices and availability
Xiaomi will additionally announce the start date of sales and the cost of tablet computers in different areas. They will go on sale with MIUI for Pad firmware. The prices for the Chinese market can be found below.
