Xiaomi 12 will get a 200MP camera with an inch sensor
Xiaomi will unveil a new generation flagship smartphone in 2021. It will be called Xiaomi 12 and will be the first to get a unique main camera.
What is known?
Xiaomi 12 (without Mi branding) will be the world's first smartphone with a 200-megapixel main camera based on 1" optical image sensor. The sensor will have support for combining 16 pixels into one, i.e. the output will be 12.5 megapixels. For comparison, the Xiaomi Mi 11 is equipped with a 108-megapixel module based on a 1/1.33-inch sensor.
The future novelty is promised the market's best LTPO display with support for adaptive refresh rate from 1 Hz to 120 Hz. At the heart of the smartphone will be the flagship 4nm Snapdragon 898 platform with Prime Cortex-X2 core. Performance compared to the Snapdragon 888 will be improved by 20%.
When to expect?
The Xiaomi 12 was originally expected to premiere in late 2021. But the other day there is new information, according to which Xiaomi Mi 12 won't get MIUI 13, but will come out earlier than expected. At the same time it will go on sale not with MIUI 13, but with MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition.
