Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 foldable smartphones get battery protection feature like tablets

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 foldable smartphones were introduced a few weeks ago, but their features continue to be revealed until still. One feature that no one  ever suspected is Protect Battery.

How does it work?

This is a battery protection feature that was previously only available on Galaxy tablets. It can be found in settings by going to "Device Care " and clicking "Battery", and then "Advanced Battery Settings".

The main purpose of this option is to keep the battery from failing prematurely. Many studies conducted in recent years have shown that charging a lithium battery to its full capacity in the long term will not extend battery life. Overcharging to 100% increases the load on the battery, which shortens its service life and shortens battery life from one charge. This is why Protect Battery sets the charging limit at 85% - no more than this mark the battery will charge .

It is not yet clear whether and regular Samsung smartphones will get the feature, or whether it will remain exclusive to foldable gadgets and tablets from the South Korean manufacturer.
