Filming of the pilot episode of the HBO series based on The Last of Us is now complete
The director Kantemir Balagov has finished shooting the first pilot episode of the series based on the game The Last of Us.

The first episode was filmed in Canada, in the cities of Fort McLeod and Calgary. Nad the next episodes of the series will be directed by Jasmila Zbanic and Ali Abbasi. There will be a total of 10 in the first season. Presumably, the series is set to be released on HBO Max in 2022.

The Last of Us series is a co-production Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Naughty Dog, The Mighty Mint and Word Games. Fromthe story is set in a post-apocalyptic world where an outbreak of a virus has occurred. The protagonist Joel (Pedro Pascal) lost his daughter during the height of the pandemic and he has to carry across the country a little girl Ellie (Bella Ramsay), who has an immunity to the virus.
