Xiaomi recently started sending out MIUI 12.5 firmware to the Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones. The first software update was immediately fatal for one of the most popular models in the brand's history.
What happened?
After installing MIUI 12.5 in some Redmi Note 8 Pro models, the sensor stops responding to taps, some banking apps stop launching and Wi-Fi "fails". The problems are observed in the following firmware versions:
- v12.5.1.0 RGGMIXM (global);
- v12.5.1.0 RGGRUXM (Russian);
- v12.5.2.0 RGGEUXM (European).
Xiaomi has not yet responded to the reports. Usually the company corrects such problems relatively quickly by releasing a fresh version of the firmware.
