Xiaomi Mi 6 won't be re-released - company head recommends users to take a closer look at Redmi K40
It is not the first year when rumors about the re-release of the flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi 6 have been circulating. More than four years have passed since its announcement, and users are in no hurry to replace the model with a new one due to the lack of affordable and decent compact flagships on the market.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun explicitly hints that there is no need to wait for a re-release of the 2017 smartphone. Instead, he recommends that owners of the old Xiaomi Mi 6 take a closer look at the relatively recently announced affordable flagship Redmi K40 powered by Snapdragon 870. It's priced from $310 in China.
It's hard to imagine why users should choose this particular model if compactness is at the top of the list for them. The Redmi K40, which we know as the POCO F3, although it has thin bezels, it remains more dimensional than the Xiaomi Mi 6.
The 2017 flagship measures 145.2 x 70.5 x 7.5 mm with a 5.15" screen and weighs 168 g. The ceramic version weighs 14 g more. The Redmi K40 features a 6.67" display. The overall dimensions are 163.7 x 76.4 x 7.8 mm. Weight - 196 g.
