Realme 8s 5G: The world's first smartphone with a MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor on board
Realme, as promised, held a presentation today in India to showcase its new low-cost 5G smartphone Realme 8s.
What's known
As said in the teasers, the device is equipped with a fresh MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor. This is the first smartphone in the world with such SoC on board. The chip is built on a 6-nanometer processor. It has Cortex-A76, Cortex-A55 cores, built-in 5G modem, as well as graphics accelerator Mali-G57 MC2.
As for the other specs of the Realme 8s, they include a 6.5-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The panel has an LCD matrix, FHD+ resolution and a 16 MP front-facing camera hole. The smartphone comes with 6/8GB RAM and 128GB storage. Incidentally, the RAM has Dynamic RAM feature and is expandable up to 13GB.
The novelty is powered by a 5000 mAh battery. It supports 33W fast charging. The Realme 8s also gets a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB-C port, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1 and a main camera with three sensors at 64 MP + 2 MP (macro) + 2 MP (B&W). The novelty comes with Android 11 and the proprietary Realme UI 2.0 shell.
Price and when to expectSales of Realme 8s will start on September 13, but so far only in India. The novelty will be sold in two colors and with a price tag starting at $245.
