Xiaomi's budgeter gets MIUI 12.5 on Android 11 in Europe

Xiaomi has updated the MIUI software in another low-cost smartphone brand Redmi, which was announced last year.

Yesterday we wrote about the release of a stable MIUI 12.5 firmware based on Android 10 operating system in China for the budget Redmi 9A model. At the same time, the standard edition of the ninth generation has already managed to get a global European version of the shell, and right away with Android 11 OS.

Redmi 9 was also introduced in the first half of 2020. The smartphone hit the market with MIUI 12 on Android 10, and now will get MIUI 12.5 numbered v12.5.1.0 RJCEUXM. As the software has the status of Stable Beta, it is available for about 30% of the models in Europe.

To recap, Redmi 9 comes with Helio G80 processor, IPS screen, 8MP front-facing camera and 13MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP primary camera. The built-in battery capacity in the smartphone is 5020 mAh.

MIUI 12.5 on Android 11 is the first big update for the model. This means that it will get MIUI 13. Chances for MIUI 14 are also there, but users shouldn't particularly hope for Android 12, as Xiaomi's policy is to release a single operating system update for budget smartphones. Although Redmi Note 8 updated from Android 9.0 Pie to Android 11.
