The novelty has an 11-inch IPS display with a resolution of 2560×1600p and 120 Hz refresh rate. The screen supports the branded Xiaomi Smart Pen stylus.

Under the hood of the tablet is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 processor. It is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage. An 8720 mAh battery is responsible for the Pad 5's battery life. It charges through the USB-C port using the included 22.5W power supply. The novelty also has four speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio support, and there's also a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. The tablet weighs 500 grams. Out of the box, the device has the Android 11 operating system and MIUI for Pad shell, which is specifically optimized for the large diagonal.
