Xiaomi dramatically increased smartphone shipments in Europe and almost caught up with Samsung
Analytical agency Canalys has published a research report on the European smartphone market in the second quarter of 2021.
What is known?
The top 5 included three companies from China, as well as one each from the United States and South Korea. South Korean technology giant Samsung remains the leader, holding 19% of the market. It was able to increase shipments by 15% compared with the second quarter of 2020.
Xiaomi is breathing down the back of the leader with a share of 17%. Compared to the base period, the manufacturer from the Celestial Empire shipped 83% more models and surpassed Apple, which increased shipments by only 1%. The giant from Cupertino has taken 14% of the market.
Top 5 are OPPO and Vivo. Each has 10%. In the reporting period compared to the base period they were able to increase shipment of smart phones in Europe by 28% and 27% respectively.
