Is the Redmi K50 Pro announcement close? Xiaomi has lowered Redmi K40 Pro price tag to a record low

Xiaomi announced on the official page of the brand Redmi in Weibo about reducing the price of popular flagship smartphone Redmi K40 Pro.

The device will now be sold in China with a price tag of $390 USD. For comparison, at the beginning of sales, the device was sold for at least $ 430.

What is the reason for such a price reduction, the company, of course, does not say, but we can assume that the manufacturer is already preparing for the release of the successor to the Redmi K50 Pro. If rumors are to be believed, the device could be introduced at the end of 2021. 

Recall, the smartphone goes under the codename Ingres. It is credited with a new flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 processor (aka SM8450). Apart from that, the smartphone will get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a main triple camera with a 64 MP or 108 MP main sensor. It will be complemented by a wide-angle camera and possibly a periscopic sensor with 5x optical zoom support.
