Apple unveiled the 5nm M1 Pro and M1 Max processors, now with up to 64GB of integrated memory!

Apple after AirPods 3 announced new single-chip systems, made on the norm of 5-nm technology, for MacBook. The processors are called M1 Pro and M1 Max.

What's the difference

Apple M1 Pro boasts 33.7 billion transistors. The newcomer packs 10 cores, including 8 high-performance cores and 2 power-efficient cores. A 16-core accelerator is responsible for the graphics. Also of note is the 16-core Neural Engine for artificial intelligence tasks. The maximum throughput reaches 200 GB/sec.

The processor got support of 32 GB of RAM, two monitors and Thunderbolt 4. The chip has ProRes system, which is responsible for video decoding. Moreover, it provides acceleration to work with files in 8K ULTRA HD format.

Apple M1 Pro is twice as powerful as the standard M1 in graphics and three times as fast as the standard model in terms of performance. The Max version is an improved version of the first novelty. It already has 37 billion transistors, a 32-core GPU and a peak bandwidth of 400 GB/sec. The maximum amount of RAM has been increased to 64GB. In addition, up to four monitors can be connected.
