Tesla forced to recall nearly 12,000 vehicles due to brake problems
Tesla said it is recalling about 12,000 vehicles due to brake problems. The failure is seen in models released over the past four years.
What's known
Tesla will recall 11,704 vehicles that have been on the market since 2017. Their list includes the Model 3 and Model S sedans, as well as the Model X and Model Y crossovers.
The manufacturer is claiming a software glitch that is related to the braking system. The vehicle can stall for no reason because of it. The bug came to light after a problematic Full Self-Driving autopilot update dated October 23, 2021 that disrupted communication between the chips.
Tesla says the self-driving braking could cause an accident. Late last month, the company stopped sending out the software update and resolved the issue. Although there have been no reports of accidents caused by false braking so far, Tesla is recalling the vehicles.
