Xiaomi to bring back Redmi K50 smartphones with sub-screen fingerprint scanners

On network repeatedly appeared information about Xiaomi has cancelled the Redmi K40S and is preparing for the release of the Redmi K50 series, which should debut in the next few months. And here comes a new report from China about the gadget.

What is known

According to the leak, the Redmi K50 smartphones, unlike  predecessors, will get sub-screen fingerprint scanners. The main reason is cited as an improvement in design, despite the fact that conventional scanners often work more accurately than sub-scanners.

Recall, in the Redmi K40 line ( photo), the manufacturer used conventional scanners built into the power button on the side, although the OLED displays that the smartphones are equipped with, and can accommodate the sensor. This was done to save on components and make the price tag of the finished product more attractive. In case of Redmi K50 saving seems to have changed their mind.

Also, the source claims that Redmi K50 Pro+ will have a Snapdragon 898 chipset built on 4nm process technology. So it looks like the smartphone won't debut until December - that's when and should announce the new processor. It is not possible that the base Redmi K50 will be shown earlier, as it should get the Snapdragon 870 chip.
