Apple poached one of Tesla's autopilot creators to work on its electric car

Bloomberg reports that Apple has hired another former Tesla employee.

Who and

 why?

So, Cristopher Moore, who previously served as director of Tesla's autopilot software, has joined the company. He joins the secret team working on Apple's electric car. Most interestingly, Apple has never publicly disclosed its plans for cars, but seems to be actively moving forward with attempts to develop autopilot technology.

Incidentally, at Tesla, Moore has been a truth-teller, so to speak, and has repeatedly hinted that Ilon Musk's claims about autopilot " are not consistent with engineering reality", and he himself exaggerates its capabilities. For years, Musk has stated that he believes Tesla is close to releasing so-called Level 5 autonomy features, meaning that cars can operate without human intervention.

At Apple, Moore will work on the development team led by  Stuart Bowers, who is also from Tesla.
