Google TV Personalized User Profiles Delayed

The release of individual user profiles, which were supposed to appear on Google TV last month, has been delayed, which means that personalized content recommendations are unfortunately not available to users at this time.

The company originally said new user profiles would hit Google TV last month, but Google spokesman Ivy Hunt told The Verge today that the profiles will begin rolling out "in the coming months."

This is a bit upsetting for families with multiple users who have been eagerly awaiting features like custom watchlists, personalized Google Assistant help, and filtering out content that interests other users of the same device (like kids, for example - although earlier this year Google already introduced profiles for children).

Unfortunately, Google did not name the reason for the delay. However, the available information suggests that the long-awaited functionality will appear early next year.
