SpaceX is actively expanding its Starlink satellite network and even set a new record on 4 May.

Here's What We Know

Yesterday, SpaceX's 494th mission took place, as a result of which the Falcon 9 rocket put a record number of satellites into Earth's orbit - 29 vehicles of the v2.0 Mini Optimised model, and then successfully landed, completing its twentieth flight.

The previous record was 28 satellites, and the new result is particularly symbolic because of its date - 4 May is Star Wars Day and surely Elon Musk's company didn't choose it for nothing.

The successful launch confirms SpaceX's leadership in the deployment of satellite Internet, while a Project Kuiper in jeopardy: Amazon may fail to launch its own satellite internet service before it can start in full force. Thus, of the required 1600 Project Kuiper satellites, which should be put into orbit by the summer of 2026, only a few dozen are ready.
