Fortnite to return to iOS in Europe

The company announced that it has received an Apple developer account and "will soon begin development of the Epic Games Store on iOS. Under the new Digital Markets Act (DMA), Epic Games has been granted the ability to offer Fortnite and the Epic Games Store on mobile devices in Europe. The company has previously lost a lawsuit with Apple, so its return to iOS is now possible thanks to the new regulations.

Epic Games Sweden AB will manage the new Epic Games Store and Fortnite mobile store in Europe, with the Store team handling development. Epic Games Sweden has a total of three studios and more than 60 employees, the company also noted.

The DMA allows Epic Games to operate a mobile game store. This is an important step in the fight for competition and regulation of digital platforms.

The company's team is preparing for this step, taking into account legislative innovations and regulatory requirements.
