Pi chatbot developer unveils Inflection-1 language model

Inflection has unveiled Inflection-1, the large language model on which its conversational chatbot Pi runs.

Here's What We Know

Inflection-1 is roughly the same size and capabilities as GPT-3.5. The company claims it is competitive with the GPT, LLaMA, Chinchilla and PaLM models.

According to the published results, Inflection-1 performs well on various metrics such as school examination performance or "common sense" compliance. However, the system lags behind in the area of coding.

Inflection notes that it expects to publish results for a larger model comparable to GPT-4 and PaLM-2.
