The US Congress has restricted employees from using AI tools like ChatGPT
The US Congress has imposed strict restrictions on the use of ChatGPT and similar generative AI tools for employees.
Here's What We Know
According to Axios, the US House of Representatives administration has imposed strict conditions on the use of generative AI models in congressional offices. Employees can only use the paid version of ChatGPT Plus for "research and evaluation". But they cannot use the technology in their day-to-day work.
Employees are allowed to enter only publicly available data into the chatbot even in the Plus version. Privacy features must be manually enabled to prevent information from being passed to the artificial intelligence model.
The free version of ChatGPT is currently not allowed, as are any other major language models.
