Startup Runway, which has developed an AI video generator, has raised $141m

Runway, a company that builds generative artificial intelligence tools, has announced it has raised $141m in an additional Series C funding round.

Google, NVIDIA, Salesforce Ventures and other investors participated in the round. The company intends to use the funds raised to further research, expand the team and bring multimodal AI systems to market.

Runway previously released the Gen-1 algorithm, which allows it to generate a video from a small snippet, image or text cue. The second version, Gen-2, is designed to convert text into video.

The company has also held AI film festivals, created Runway Studios and launched a mobile app, further increasing user access to AI tools.
