Microsoft added Maybelline 'make-up' filters with artificial intelligence to Teams
Microsoft has added a new set of "virtual make-up" filters to Teams, developed by cosmetics giant Maybelline.
Here's What We Know
The new feature uses artificial intelligence and augmented reality to create different looks using digital effects. Users can choose from 12 unique make-up options and see which real Maybelline products and shades match the selected filter.
The digital makeup technology was developed by Modiface, which L'Oreal bought in 2018. Modiface has also partnered with beauty brands such as Sephora and Estée Lauder.
The Geena Davis Institute, a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving inclusion and diversity in media, helped develop the filters. Her goal was to make sure virtual makeup was appropriate for a wide audience.
Maybelline Beauty is already available to Microsoft Teams Enterprise customers. The effects can be found under the Video Effects tab in the meeting settings.
